Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov likened the United States to Hitler and the Holocaust during his annual press conference on Wednesday.
– Just as Napoleon mobilized almost all of Europe against the Russian Empire, just as Hitler mobilized and captured the majority of Europe’s countries and sent them against the Soviet Union – now the United States has organized a coalition, he said and continued:
– The task is the same: The final solution of the Russia question. Just as Hitler wanted a final solution to the Jewish question.
White House spokesman John Kirby responded to Lavrov’s statements:
– It’s almost so absurd that it’s not worth answering, other than that he tries to compare us to Hitler and the Holocaust in a really insulting way, he said according to Reuters.
