  • Latest news

  • Gasoline price above 20 kroner again

Leading fuel chains are raising the target price for petrol by 10 öre today, just in time for the midsummer weekend.

Thus, a liter of petrol costs over 20 kroner again (20.09) after just over a week around 19 kroner, writes TT.

The diesel price is stable at SEK 22.51, after a sharp increase of 35 öre on Monday.

The prices of biodiesel and vehicle gas are also left unchanged.

  • Collision between car and freight train

A freight train and a passenger car are said to have collided in the municipality of Marks.

Police and emergency services have been called to the scene.

    – We are there to support the rescue service and make sure that no one gets out on the track. Train traffic has been stopped since half past nine and it will probably be stopped for quite a while, says Jens Andersson, press spokesperson for the police region West.

Details regarding the state of the damage, why or how the accident happened are currently unclear.

  • Deep water challenge for rescue craft at Titanic

Depending on where and how deep the missing tourist submarine is, it can be a challenge for the rescue craft, writes CNN.

According to CNN, the Canadian military and the US Coast Guard have sent aircraft to search the area.

It is unclear what happened to the submarine, why it lost contact with the outside world and how close the boat was to the Titanic’s wreckage when it disappeared.

  • Man stabbed – one person arrested

A man has been taken to hospital by ambulance after being found with stab wounds in an apartment on Gärdet in Stockholm during the morning.

Young adults are charged with handling military weapons and drugs in Malmö

The Customs Agency has uncovered a group of young people who stored military weapons and handled large quantities of narcotics and a thermos bomb in an apartment in central Malmö, the Customs Agency writes in a press release.

An 18-year-old and two 24-year-olds are now charged with extremely serious weapons offenses and serious drug offences.

    – It is really ominous that we find such heavy weapons as anti-tank rifles, automatic carbines and thermos bombs when we attack suspected drug smugglers, says Erik Friberg, who is the head of the customs crime department in southern Sweden.

  • Two people in sewage tank – emergency personnel to hospital

According to the police’s initial information, two people must have fallen into a sewage tank in an industrial area in Ängelholm.

The emergency services have pulled one person out of the tank.

    – The second person is being taken out now, says police spokesperson Patrik Fors.

During the rescue work, three people were taken to hospital with unknown injuries. At least one of them is from the emergency services.

According to SOS, nine ambulances have been sent to the workplace.

    – There must be just enough gas in the room, says Lundqvist.

The incident is being investigated as a suspected workplace accident.

  • The reduction obligation reviewed – has driven up prices

Today, the law on reduction obligations means that it must be increased annually until 2030.

But according to the National Audit Office’s review, this is not possible – as today’s rules and technology do not allow it.

    – In a few years’ time, it will not be possible to mix in as much biofuel as the reduction obligation prescribes, says audit director Peter Jörgensen to TT.

In recent years, it has become more expensive to produce biofuels. There is a risk that the fuel suppliers choose to pay a penalty instead of mixing biofuel.

  • New alcohol advice – breastfeeding women can drink

All the body’s organs are affected by alcohol, even in small amounts. It increases the risk of, among other things, breast cancer, according to the new Nordic nutritional recommendations, NNR fast.

At the same time, it is questioned whether breastfeeding women really have to abstain from alcohol.

    – We have deleted the advice on total abstinence, says Rune Blomhoff, project manager at NNR, to TT.

However, what is behind the decision is unknown.

    – We have generally made many adjustments as we worked further with the scientific basis and received many comments from researchers. There is now a large consensus within NNR around the councils, says Blomhoff.

New report: Women’s earnings more than 20 percent lower than men’s

A new report from the state Mediation Institute shows that lower wages combined with shorter working hours mean that women’s incomes are more than 20 percent lower than men’s, reports Sveriges Radio.

    – Development has gone in the right direction, but rather slowly. One explanation is that we have had an elite who have received ever higher capital income. That elite is above all male and that slows down development, says Irene Vennemo, director general at the Mediation Institute, to Ekot.

The report also shows that social insurance, contributions and taxes increase gender equality. But pensions are more unequal than earnings.

    – The two large piles of timber were 20 by 40 metres, says Håkan Andersson, line operator at the Security and Alarm Center in Kalmar.
