Suspected rape at a hotel in Stockholm

A man has been arrested on suspicion of raping a woman in a hotel room in Stockholm after the woman herself alerted the police, writes TT.

The incident occurred on Sunday evening.

– A woman has taken herself to hospital and contacted us and states that she was raped in a hotel room. We have arrested a suspicious man, says Carina Andersson, officer on duty at the Stockholm Police.

It is unclear what relationship they both have to each other.

    A large fire has broken out at Säfsen ski resort during the morning.

    The alarm came to the rescue service just after four o’clock and several units are now on site to put out the fire.

  • Damascus airport closed after attack

    Israel has fired drones at the Syrian capital Damascus International Airport early Monday. The airport has closed and two soldiers are said to have died in the attack, according to Syria’s army.

    The attack is said to have also caused major material damage in a nearby area, the Syrian military says, but does not provide further details.

  • Prison under attack – 14 dead

    At least 14 people have died after a prison in Ciudad Juárez in Mexico was attacked by heavily armed men, AFP reports.

    Ten of the dead are said to be guards and security personnel at the prison.

    The attack was carried out with the help of armored cars and 24 prisoners reportedly escaped, according to a statement from the Chihuahuas prosecutor’s office.
