Commuter train traffic halted after fire – passengers evacuated
A fire broke out under a commuter train at Kungsängens station in Stockholm just before lunch on Monday.
– All travelers were evacuated. The fire is out, but this obviously affects commuter train traffic. It is a complete stop in the northbound direction, says Claes Keisu, press communicator at SL.
SL has no forecast for when traffic can flow as usual again. There is also no information on what caused the fire.

A man is suspected of having murdered his wife
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a woman at Hisingen in Gothenburg.
The police were called to a residence early in the morning. When the police arrived, the woman was found injured in the apartment. She later died in hospital.
The woman’s husband was also in the same residence. He was arrested on the spot on suspicion of murder.
The man is also said to have injuries.
The residence has been cordoned off.
The Court of Appeal changes the verdict against the 16-year-old girl
A 16-year-old girl was sentenced in November 2022 for murdering her little brother in Vällingby in western Stockholm. The girl appealed the verdict to the Court of Appeal – which has now decided to change the verdict.
In the district court, the girl was sentenced to inpatient youth care for two years and eight months. But according to the Court of Appeal’s assessment, the sentence should be reduced to inpatient youth care for two years and six months.
Wolf in Ånge shot
Residents have previously seen a wolf moving inside Östvall in Ånge.
This prompted the municipality to act and announce a protective hunt. Now the local media announce that the wolf has been shot.
The wolf, which was shot on Sunday, weighed 23 kilos and is to be sent to the State Veterinary Institute (SVA) for examination, according to a press release from the county administration in Västernorrland, TT reports.
No overtaking on E4 this Easter
The Swedish Transport Administration warns of high pressure on the E4 north of Gävle during Easter week. Therefore, it has been decided to issue an overtaking ban.
“When everyone stays in the same lane, traffic flows much better, and we reduce the risk of queuing accidents with longer total stops,” says Emil Samuelsson, traffic engineer at the Swedish Transport Administration, in a press release.
Exactly what and what times apply to the overtaking ban will be displayed on information boards along the road. The police will monitor the route.
Four arrested after indoor robbery
Four people have been arrested after a suspected robbery at an address in Norrköping.
The police state that the perpetrators allegedly robbed a 25-year-old man of belongings, among other things. The man should not have had to seek medical care.
Those arrested are three women and one man aged 30 to 45.

Storbanken’s new interest rate forecast
Swedbank is now coming up with a new interest rate forecast and calculates that the Riksbank will raise it by 50 basis points in April and by the same amount in June.
Which would mean that the variable mortgage interest rates after discounts are expected to rise to around 4.5 percent during the summer.
“But towards the end of the year and during 2024, when inflation has decreased and the Riksbank softens, we assess that interest rates with shorter maturities will fall, while long-term ones will stabilise,” says Swedbank’s head of forecasting Andreas Wallström in a press release.
Masked man suspected of knife robbery shop
The police are looking for a man who is suspected of having robbed the Press Office at Östra sjukhuset in Gothenburg on Sunday evening.
The man is said to have threatened the staff in the store with a knife while picking up goods and demanding cash.
The police state that the man did not take any money with him and that no one was injured during the incident.
M wants to introduce grade requirements for summer jobs
The moderates in Stockholm propose that passing grades should be required to get a municipal holiday job, reports DN.
– I want holiday jobs to be used as a motivation factor for students to pass their studies. There must be passing grades in Swedish, English and mathematics to get a holiday job, says opposition councilor Andréa Hedin (M).
However, the proposal is criticized by the Social Democrats.
– Setting up obstacles for children to get summer jobs is downright idiotic, says city councilor Emilia Bjuggren (S), to the newspaper.
At the same time, the Center Party proposes to lower the age for municipal summer jobs to 13 years – among other things to counter gang crime.
Explosion outside residential building
The police were called during the night to a residential building in southern Malmö after an alarm that something had detonated.
On the spot, it was established that a “more powerful piece of fireworks” had exploded outside an apartment.

Trial about the murder of Liselotte begins
Today the trial begins after the murder of 25-year-old Liselotte.
She was found dead in a wooded area in Kramfors in October.
