South Korea and the US discuss joint planning and exercises with US nuclear weapons.

This is reported by TT, which refers to a statement from South Korean President Yoon Suk-Yeol.

The reason is the increasing threats from nuclear neighbor North Korea.

The president says in an interview in the Chosun Ilbo newspaper that the US nuclear umbrella and nuclear deterrence are no longer enough to reassure South Koreans.

“The nuclear weapons belong to the United States, but the planning, information sharing and exercises and training must be done jointly between South Korea and the United States,” he says.
