Several people are being treated for serious injuries after the mass shooting in Hamburg yesterday.

A 35-year-old man shot and killed six people and an unborn child in the Jehovah’s Witnesses meeting place before taking his own life.

Germany’s Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who was previously mayor of Hamburg, says today that he “can’t find any words”.

– We fear that more will die from their severe injuries, he said when he commented on the act, according to Reuters.

  • They tried to run over the police – they were shot at

    A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after trying to run over police officers outside Sundsvall.

    The drama began at 2:30 p.m., when the police tried to stop a white Skoda that had been reported stolen.

    Several patrols participated in the operation, and the police had to impound the stolen car to stop the driver.

    In connection with the intervention, the driver tried to run over police officers. The police then responded by opening fire at the car.

    The man, who is in his 30s, could then be arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. A preliminary investigation has also been opened by the Special Prosecutor’s Chamber, which is routine when the police open fire.

    No police officers were injured in the incident.

  • Double accidents on E4

    Two accidents occurred on the E4 at Södertälje at around 4 p.m.

    First, several vehicles must have collided at Tuvängen, in the direction of Södertälje. Emergency services are on the scene and the road had to be closed.

    Just a short time later, a truck and a car collided not far away. That accident also happened in the direction of Södertälje.

    No one seems to have been injured, but three cars need to be recovered.

    According to the police, there are long queues at the site. The Swedish Transport Administration expects that traffic will be affected until 17.15.

    A man in Tierp was charged today with serious child pornography offences.

    The man is said to have had at least one million child pornography images and videos – with a playing time of several years.

    According to him, the material is so extensive that the police have not been able to go through everything.

    – The evidence is rather underestimated.

    The man was arrested after Europol infiltrated pedophile chats. He has been in custody since December.

    Among other things, two computers, a tablet and an external hard drive were seized by the police.

  • Swedish man dies in avalanche in Italy

    A Swedish man in his 50s has died after an avalanche occurred in Marmora in the Italian Alps on Thursday.

    The man was a mountain guide and was according to the site The Guide up on a mountainside with four others when the avalanche was triggered.

    Rescuers were able to dig him out of the avalanche after he was found with an avalanche probe.

    Despite resuscitation attempts, his life could not be saved.

    The Foreign Ministry confirms the death.

    “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs can confirm that a Swedish man in his 50s died on March 9 in an avalanche accident in the Italian Alps,” the press service writes in an email.

    Relatives have been notified.

  • Scooter accident – one seriously injured

    There has been a scooter accident in Älvdalen. The police are on the scene.
