Record high temperatures were measured on Saturday in Vietnam.

The new top reading is 44.1 degrees Celsius, reports TT.

The record was measured at a measuring station in Thanh Hoa province in northern Vietnam, according to the country’s National Meteorological and Hydrological Institute. The previous top figure, 43.4 degrees, was recorded in 2019 in central Vietnam.

“This is a worrying record in terms of climate change and global warming,” said Nguyen Ngoc Huy, a Hanoi-based expert on climate change, adding that he expects even higher temperatures to come.
