Qatar is singled out for attempted bribery in the EU
Police in Belgium have arrested and interrogated four people after various attacks around Brussels, TT reports.
The crackdown is related to attempted bribery in the EU Parliament. Police raided 16 locations in central Brussels on Friday. Among those arrested is a former member of the EU Parliament.
The suspicions are that a country tried to gain influence over economic and political decisions by paying large sums of money.
The prosecutors in Belgium do not name names, but the newspaper Le Soir singles out Qatar as the country that would benefit from the bribes.
During the raids, the equivalent of just over six million Swedish kronor in cash, computer equipment and mobile phones were seized, according to the news agency.

A person has been arrested after a suspected serious crime in Eslöv, the police say.
The police were called to the scene during the morning.
The crime scene is cordoned off and police technicians are on site. Door knocking has been carried out.

Alarm in store – woman threw furniture
The police have been called to a grocery store in Orsa.

Details: “Enemy list” found with suspected coup plotter
A suspicious enemy list was found with one of the people arrested in connection with the giant raid against the organization Reichsbürger.

Traffic accident involving 14 vehicles on the E4
Several accidents have occurred on the E4 between Stockholm and Uppsala.
