A police car has driven off the road in Lund municipality, the police write on their website.

Parents are convicted of abusing babies
Both parents deny wrongdoing. Now they are sentenced for assaulting their then three-week-old son, write The Gothenburg Post.
It was in April this year that the parents sought treatment for their son at a hospital in Gothenburg. During initial examinations, the healthcare staff could establish that the child was healthy.
On the same day, several nurses witnessed how both the mother and father injured the boy several times.
The care staff then drew up a report of concern.
Later, it turned out that the child suffered cerebral hemorrhages, according to doctors, accompanied by the shaking violence that the medical staff testifies to.
The father of the boy is convicted of grievous bodily harm and assault on a previous occasion, while the mother is convicted of assault that took place in the hospital.
The father is also convicted of minor drug offences, for possession of cannabis and tramadol, among other things.
The sentence for both is fixed at probation.
Woman dead after accident in garage
An 85-year-old woman has died after she was hit in a garage in Hultsfred on Monday, Dagens Vimmerby reports.
The newspaper states that it was the woman’s husband who drove the car and that it appears to be an accident.
Since the accident, the woman has been treated in hospital, but has now died from her injuries.
The woman’s relatives have been notified.
Recall eggs – risk of salmonella
Axfood is recalling eggs from Garant, after it was discovered that they may contain salmonella.
This is what the company writes in a press release.
It applies to eggs from indoor free-range hens in size XL, six-pack, with a best-before date of 2023-01-26.
Salmonella has detected salmonella in the stable environment where the eggs have been laid.
– We take the incident very seriously and are investigating with the supplier how this could have happened, says Axfood’s quality manager Susanna Wadegård in the press release.

Two arrested for aiding and abetting New Year’s murder
On New Year’s Eve, a man in his 20s died and several were injured in a shooting outside McDonald’s in Vällingby.
Two people were arrested on Wednesday for aiding and abetting murder. One is arrested on probable cause and the other on reasonable suspicion.
The two arrested men will be interrogated during the day, the Public Prosecutor’s Office states in a press release.

A truck has driven into the ditch on national highway 40 between Vimmerby and Mariannelund, reports Vimmerby newspaper.
No one is said to have been injured in the accident.

Woman hit in Mölndal – motorist left the scene
A woman has been hit at a stop in Mölndal, the police write on their website.
The police were alerted to the accident at 08.11 on Wednesday morning.
According to the police, the motorist drove away from the scene.
The condition of the woman’s injuries is unclear.
Man arrested for rape in Botkyrka
The police were called to Tullinge in Botkyrka municipality, south of Stockholm late on Tuesday evening after a person called in about a rape outside.
The caller had taken care of a woman who had been attacked in a wooded area and raped under threat.
With the help of surveillance cameras, dog patrols and a description, the police managed to arrest a suspected perpetrator in a residence.
After questioning the man, who is 35 years old, prosecutors decided to arrest the man.
He is also suspected of an attempted robbery against another woman in the area earlier in the evening.
Shooting Malmö – one man injured

There has been a shooting in Malmö, the police report on Wednesday morning. The police received a call about loud bangs in a parking lot around 06:30.
– We sent several police patrols to the scene and an injured man was found in the parking lot. It was neighbors and relatives of the man who called us, says Patric Fors, police spokesperson.
The injured man was taken to hospital by ambulance.
A shorter prosecution interview has been conducted with the injured party. The crime classification is attempted murder.
– We have made some technical findings in the vicinity of the site which allow us to establish that it was a shooting. There is also a car that will be confiscated.
The extent of the damage is unclear.
Police weather advisory: Work from home
Park the car and work from home if possible. The police in Östergötland and Jönköping are advising the residents ahead of today’s expected snow storm.
– If you have the opportunity to work at home, it is recommended, says police spokesperson Angelica Israelsson Silfver to P4 Östergötland.
SMHI has issued both yellow and orange warnings for Östergötland, Västergötland, Dalsland and northern Småland. Between 10 and 30 centimeters of snow is expected to fall until Thursday morning.

More police officers are sent to Stockholm after the wave of violence
Several regions are sending police officers to Stockholm to help with the violent spiral that flared up in the capital during the Christmas and New Year holidays, writes SvD.
Among other things, police officers from the Bergslagen and Väst regions help with the investigations. According to Erik Nord, head of the investigative unit at the Gothenburg police, between ten and a hundred police officers have been sent to Stockholm.
Others help remotely.
– When some of the rest of us are in a slightly better position, we get to help. What is a bit distinctive is that it has been like this for a long time in Stockholm, he tells the newspaper.

In the article about covid it says in the fact box:
that covid is still “notifiable, which means that confirmed cases must still be reported by the healthcare system to the regional infectious disease doctor and the Public Health Authority.”
I don’t think people know this, during December at least 25 of my acquaintances have been diagnosed with covid but no one has reported this anywhere. Can you figure out what to do when home covid tests are positive?
