During an emergency in Västerås on Saturday night, a police car collided with a passenger car in central Västerås.

– It was a priority one alarm, says Magnus Jansson Klarin, press spokesperson at the police.

A woman in her 50s who was driving the car is said to be seriously injured and was transported to hospital by ambulance.

Two police officers were traveling in the police car. They were not injured in the collision.

– The police were very shocked and the whole thing will now be investigated by the Special Prosecutor’s Chamber, says Magnus Jansson Klarin.

    An ambulance was sent after relatives raised the alarm at 9:30 p.m., but the man’s life could not be saved, writes GP.

    Relatives have been notified of the death, the police say.

  • Fire at campsite

    A fire raged during the night towards Sunday in the main building at the Forshagaforsen campsite in Forshaga, north of Karlstad.

    – Flames are shooting through the roof and windows, an operator at SOS Alarm told NWT.

    According to the emergency services, there was a risk of spreading to smaller buildings next door.

    Personnel from four fire stations participated in the operation, which began shortly after 01.01.

    No people were injured, writes NWT.

  • Evacuates villages after alarm of volcanic activity

    Residents of villages near the Nevado del Ruiz volcano in Colombia are being asked to leave the area.
