Parking app has suffered from IT disturbances
Stockholm city’s parking app Betala P has suffered from IT disturbances. Users testify that they cannot change, cancel or pay for their parking.
Therefore, the Transport Office has decided to temporarily introduce free parking in the capital.
– The app works for some but not for others. Therefore, we have decided that our parking attendants should not patch cars that have not paid the parking fee, says Malinda Flodman at the Traffic Office.

Sweden best in the world in cyber security exercise
A Swedish-Icelandic team has won the world’s largest cyber security exercise Locked Shields, announces the Swedish Armed Forces.
– It’s great fun! It’s just a matter of congratulating everyone involved, says Johan Pekkari, responsible for cyber defence.
The purpose from the Swedish side was to train participants from the financial sector and the electronic communication sector to individually and together handle a larger realistic cyber security event.
This year, over 3,000 participants worldwide took part in the exercise.
“I am proud of the Swedish participants, which consisted of just over 100 representatives and were led by the Swedish Armed Forces. Cyber security is an important part of Sweden’s total defence. This clearly shows how Sweden has a lot to contribute to NATO as a member in yet another area,” says Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson on Instagram.
UN aid worker killed in shooting
An aid worker working for the UN refugee agency IOM has been killed in Sudan, Reuters reports.
– I am deeply touched by the death of our colleague and will mourn together with his wife, newborn child and our team in Sudan, says Antonio Vitorino who is IOM’s Director General.
Reuters reports that the aid worker was traveling in a car with his family when they found themselves in the middle of a shootout between two rival groups.
Re-arrested for suspected terrorist plots
All four people who are suspected of being labeled a terrorist crime after Säpo’s big effort earlier this year are re-arrested, reports SVT Sörmland.
The persons were arrested in a coordinated operation in Eskilstuna, Strängnäs and Linköping at the beginning of April.

Ten people in the same family have been killed in an act in the province of Kwazulu-Natal in eastern South Africa, TT and AP report.
At least one of the victims was a child.
According to the police, there must have been four people who ambushed the family.
One perpetrator has been shot dead by the police and one is still at large.
The four are “notorious” criminals in the area, according to South Africa’s Police Minister Bheki Cele, who went to the crime scene.

Forest fire outside Laxå

– Since the conflict broke out on April 15, the government has been working on preparations to be able to assist with an international evacuation mission, Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) said at a press conference.
He urges Swedes on the spot to seek shelter and stay indoors. But so far it is not possible to evacuate Swedes from Sudan.
– Right now, it is not possible to carry out that assignment. We hope that changes very soon.
Car and motorcycle in collision – man to hospital
The police have been alerted to a collision between a car and a motorcycle in Karlstad.
The driver of the motorcycle, a man in his 20s, has been taken to hospital by ambulance.

Man injured in suspected workplace accident
The police have been called to a workplace in Hedemora municipality due to an accident.

Rape sentence overturned – receives 77,000 in compensation
Last year, a 27-year-old man from Stockholm was convicted of raping a woman.

Now the man will receive SEK 77,000 in compensation for the time he was detained, reports the news agency Siren.
Protective stop for commuter trains in Stockholm
Protection representatives from the union ST Pendeln have decided to stop solitary work for train drivers in commuter train traffic. As of Monday at 9 a.m., no trains will run with only drivers.
The safety representatives believe that a number of incident reports have been received that show major work environment risks since solitary work for train drivers was introduced.
