As a consumer, you should be disloyal to your regular grocery store, according to the Swedish Consumer Agency’s director general Rikard Jermsten.
– We should be more disloyal to our stores and show that we refrain from goods that have become unnecessarily expensive, he says to TT after a visit to the Riksdag’s business committee.
The food industry has expressed that food prices will continue to rise for a while longer. Rikard Jermsten agrees.
– I think it’s a reasonable assessment, there are costs that haven’t hit all levels yet, he says.
The competition between the stores is “quite fierce”, according to Jermsten. In that respect, it works well, he says. But wholesale is different.
– We want to take a closer look at that, he says.
Court of Appeal toughens 17-year-old’s sentence
Earlier, a 17-year-old was sentenced to three years of closed youth care for killing a man and injuring another in Malmö with a knife.
Now the Court of Appeal stiffens the teenager’s sentence to three years and nine months.
– We have concluded that there are special reasons to sentence the 17-year-old to prison. In a case like this, with such a young perpetrator and a punishment value that for an adult corresponds to imprisonment for 17 years, the penalty must then be determined to closed youth care for a certain period of time, says Court of Appeal lawyer Anna Graninger, president of the court, in a press release.

One person has been taken to hospital after an apartment fire in Umeå.
There is no further information on the person’s injury status.

Several people have collided outside the district court in Alingsås.
According to GP should there be a murder trial in the district court.
During the ongoing trial, a large number of people are said to have started arguing outside the building.
– We have been alerted about some kind of fight, I have information that there must have been about 15 people involved. But we have no arrests or suspects, says Fredrik Svedemyr, the police’s spokesperson in Region West, to the newspaper.
Regions recommend vaccination against TBE
The tick-borne virus that causes TBE is now so widespread in southern and central Sweden that more and more regions are now recommending vaccines to everyone who moves in nature there, reports Sweden’s Radio Echo.
Many people get mild illness from TBE, but up to a third can develop severe illness such as paralysis symptoms.
The Public Health Authority has also started an investigation to see if they should come up with a collective recommendation going forward.
Sailboat found empty – people are searched in the water
Rescue services were alerted to an empty sailboat drifting around just outside Ribersborgsstranden in Malmö this morning, reports South Sweden.
When the rescue service and the Swedish Maritime Administration checked the boat, it turned out to be empty. A helicopter is now searching the area to see if anyone may have fallen into the water.
However, the boat was locked, so there is no indication that any person should have been on board during the morning.
Several are charged after murders in Haninge
Four men and a woman are now charged on suspicion of being involved in various ways in the murder of a man in his 30s in Haninge in Stockholm.
It was on March 4, 2022 that the man was shot to death with a large number of shots in a car in Haninge.
Two of the accused persons, an 18-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman, are suspected of complicity in the murder.
The suspects have connections to criminal networks in Jordbro and Bro, as well as to the criminal network Foxtrot.
Rawa Majid, the “Kurdish fox”, is also linked to the investigation and is in custody in his absence.
– I believe that the investigation shows that the 18-year-old and the 23-year-old have been involved in the murder. The man has participated in the murder as a perpetrator and the woman has promoted the murder by, among other things, letting the apartment where the perpetrators stayed before and after the murder and where the weapons were kept, says Anna Hankkio, senior prosecutor at the Södertörn Prosecutor’s Chamber, in a press release.

But already before the meeting, South Korea’s trade minister has said that Japan has agreed to drop export controls vis-à-vis South Korea. The visit is described as a step towards improving the strained relationship between the two countries.
