    National Police Chief Anders Thornberg is Sweden’s best-paid head of authority, with a salary of SEK 179,900 a month, according to a survey by Everything.

    The new executive salaries mean an increase of 1.8 percent on average compared to last year.

    Thornberg is closely followed by Försäkringskassan’s director general Nils Öberg, who earns 176,500 a month. Commander-in-Chief Micael Bydén has the third most with 173,500.

    The director of the student aid appeals board, Robbert Dalman, earns the least. He receives SEK 86,800 a month.

    The salary increase takes place retroactively from 1 October last year.

  • Peasants brutally murdered

    At least 11 farmers have been killed in an attack suspected to have been carried out by jihadists in northeastern Nigeria.

    Daniel Ellsberg, known as the man behind the “Pentagon papers”, is dead, reports Reuters.

    The war analyst Ellsberg worked from the mid-1960s in the American defense headquarters, the Pentagon, directly under the Secretary of Defense.

    At an early stage he understood that the Vietnam War could not be won. He copied 7,000 pages of classified documents that would later become known as “The Pentagon Papers”.

    When Ellsberg could not use any political channel, in 1971 he leaked the entire collection to the New York Times newspaper.

    He was 92 years old.

    Hard to know. What I do know is that the trial was supposed to be held now in June, but that it was postponed at the request of the prosecutor. The prosecutor believes that the trial can be held at the end of July at the earliest. You can read more here.
