Man appeared in hospital with stab wounds – suspected attempted murder

At 23.11 the police were called to the Sahlgrenska hospital in Gothenburg.

A man with a stab wound had made it there.

The crime is believed to have been committed outdoors at Fredrikskulle, where the police have now blocked off for a technical investigation.

The man’s injuries are not life-threatening.

The incident is classified as attempted murder, but no one is a suspect.

    During the night of Thursday, the police sensed confusion after a driver behaved suspiciously on a road outside Ystad.

    The police urged the driver to stop the car, whereupon the driver instead tried to drive away from the patrol.

    The police then threw out a mat of nails which stopped the car. The driver then dumped the vehicle and ran from the scene. However, the suspect could be captured “after a short leapfrog”, the police write on their website.

    The police have drawn up a report of theft, gross illegal driving and minor drug offences.

    Around 05 this morning, two trucks collided head-on outside Mullsjö.

    A total of three people are affected by the accident. Initially, two people were trapped.

    – The road is completely closed, we have no forecast, it will take several hours, says the command operator at the rescue service.

    Emergency services are working on the scene. Four ambulances, eight rescue vehicles and the police are on the scene.

  • Turkey: Sweden is not affected by the American arms deal

    A Turkish purchase of American combat weapons does not affect Sweden’s and Finland’s membership applications to NATO.

    This was clarified by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Cavusoglu after a meeting with US Foreign Minister Antony Blinken on Wednesday in Washington.

    – We believe that these two different issues should not be related to each other, Cavusoglu told Turkish news agency Anatolia after the meeting.

    In the past, it has been discussed whether a possible sale could be included in a larger negotiation package, where a Turkish acceptance of Swedish and Finnish NATO membership should be included. Which now turns out not to be the case, TT reports.

  • Three people have kidnapped a man

    During the night, three people kidnapped a man in central Stockholm.

    – We have received witness information about the incident, and were therefore able to continue working, says Ola Österling, press spokesperson at the police in Stockholm.

    They were then able to arrest three people outside Stockholm County. The criminal classification is not yet clear.

    – We have spoken to the crime victim and he is not injured.

    The police have not yet determined the type of crime classification involved.

    – There is much left to do in the investigation. There could be a question of more arrests.

  • Shooting at an apartment in Stockholm

    A perpetrator fired several shots at an apartment in Husby at 03.13 last night.

    The police have launched an investigation into attempted murder. No one was injured in the shooting.

  • Shooting in Stockholm – no one arrested

    Someone shot through an apartment door in a stairwell in Farsta during the night towards Thursday.

    The police were alerted by residents of the apartment building at 03:06 and have sent a large number of patrols to the area.

  • Young man stabbed

    The police were alerted at 11pm to Sahlgrenska University Hospital after a man in his 20s appeared in the emergency room with a knife cut.

    The police have opened a preliminary investigation into attempted murder. The crime is suspected to have occurred outdoors in Gothenburg, according to the officer on duty for GP.

    The man’s injuries are not life-threatening, according to the police.

  • US sends combat vehicles to Ukraine

    The US is delivering close to 100 Stryker combat vehicles and probably more than 50 Bradley combat vehicles in its new support package to Ukraine. Deputy Defense Secretary Colin Kahl told the AP news agency that the combat vehicles are necessary for Ukraine’s military as Russian invasion forces dig trenches and lay mines:

    – To make it possible for the Ukrainians to break through Russian defense lines, efforts must be made so that the Ukrainian military can combine fire and rapid movements.

    German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung reports that Chancellor Olaf Scholz is ready to send the Leopard 2 tank to the Ukrainian front if the US sends the Abrams tank.

    The United States and Turkey tried to brush over the disagreement when the countries’ foreign ministers met in Washington on Wednesday.

    Turkey wants to buy US fighter jets. Among other things, the US wants Turkey to approve Swedish and Finnish membership in NATO.

    No solution appeared in the statements after the meeting.

  • Mass graves discovered in Congo-Kinshasa

    Two mass graves have been found in Congo-Kinshasa by UN peacekeeping forces, writes TT.

    It is believed that around 50 bodies lie in the graves.

    They were found in the province of Ituri, where the Codeco militia is suspected of several ethnically motivated massacres.
