  • Large police effort after suspiciously started fires

    Right now, a large police operation is underway in Växjö after alarms about several fires.

    The derailment may have caused damage to the rails, TT reports.

    Both long-distance trains, commuter trains and the Arlanda Express are affected by the broken rail.

    A 15-year-old boy has died after he was injured with a knife during the night of Saturday, the police announced.

    Two drones have caused an explosion in Russia.

    This is claimed by the local governor, Mikhail Verdernikov, Reuters reports.

    A teenage boy was seriously stabbed in Hammarby sjöstad in southern Stockholm during the night of Saturday.

  • Several dead and injured in avalanche

    At least eleven people have died and several people are said to have been injured in an avalanche near Gilgit-Baltistan in Pakistan, local media reports.

    A total of 35 people are said to have been in the group when the avalanche started.

    A major rescue operation is now underway to help the people who remain in the area or are stuck in the avalanche.

  • They tried to rape a woman outdoors

    A 35-year-old man has assaulted a woman outdoors in Kungsstensmotet in Gothenburg late on Friday evening.

    A passerby saw the incident and broke in. The man then disappeared from the scene.

    The police suspect that the assault was probably an attempted rape. Later in the evening, the police found the man in a bush.

    He is now suspected of attempted rape.

  • Ukraine’s security chief: Counteroffensive “ready to start”

    Ukraine’s counter-offensive is ready to start. Ukraine’s security chief Oleksiy Danilov says so BBC.

    All Arlanda express departures are currently cancelled.
