Lawmakers and public employees in Kansas, USA, have received letters containing a suspected dangerous white powder, reports say Kansas City Star.
Among other things, the state’s Minister of Justice Kris Kobach was one of the recipients.
– We are working to collect the letters in a safe way and we are investigating the incident. At this time, no injuries have been reported, but we ask that everyone be vigilant, writes the Kansas Bureau of Investigation in a statement.

Daniel Ellsberg, known as the man behind the “Pentagon papers”, is dead, reports Reuters.
The war analyst Ellsberg worked from the mid-1960s in the American defense headquarters, the Pentagon, directly under the Secretary of Defense.
At an early stage he understood that the Vietnam War could not be won. He copied 7,000 pages of classified documents that would later become known as “The Pentagon Papers”.
When Ellsberg could not use any political channel, in 1971 he leaked the entire collection to the New York Times newspaper.
He was 92 years old.
The police have been alerted to a big fight at Spåntorget in Gothenburg.

During Thursday evening, Prime Minister-elect Petteri Orpo from the Samlingspartiet announced that the government negotiations had ended.
Today, it was presented which parties get which posts. The new government will consist of 19 ministers, writes Hufvudstadsbladet.
The Prime Minister’s Party, the Collection Party, gets eight ministerial posts and the True Finns get seven ministerial posts.
According to sources for Hufvudstadsbladet, the Swedish People’s Party will have two ministerial positions during the entire government period and a third position during half of the government period.
The Christian Democrats will take the other two years and thus land on 1.5 ministerial posts.
The ministers will be presented at the beginning of next week.

A fire has broken out on a balcony in Hägersten in southern Stockholm.
– There is a serious fire on the balcony. I haven’t received any information that it should be off yet. We are on site with two units and smoke divers, says Roger Sverndal, line operator.
According to the emergency services, a person must have been in the apartment but managed to get out. They don’t know how the fire started yet.

The government has decided on a new aid to Ukraine of SEK 140 million through the British fund International Fund for Ukraine, whose funds are used for training and procurement of defense equipment for Ukraine. The government writes this in a press release.
The government has also announced SEK 90 million to NATO’s support fund for Ukraine. The purpose of the fund is to procure defense equipment, fuel, medical equipment, military training equipment and support to strengthen and modernize Ukraine’s defense and security institutions.
The armed forces are tasked with training Ukrainian pilots and associated aeronautical personnel on the Jas 39 Gripen.

The incident is being investigated as causing the death of another and negligence in traffic.

Hard to know. What I do know is that the trial was supposed to be held now in June, but that it was postponed at the request of the prosecutor. The prosecutor believes that the trial can be held at the end of July at the earliest. You can read more here.
