The care company Humana lost its license to operate, among other things, home care and personal assistance.

    The World Health Organization WHO warns that the death toll could reach over 20,000 in the coming days.

    So far, no Swedish citizen has been reported dead or injured after the earthquake.

    “The Foreign Ministry and the Consulate General are in contact with Swedes who are in the area and relatives of people on the spot, but currently have no knowledge of injured or dead Swedes in Turkey or nearby areas,” writes the Foreign Ministry’s press service in an email.

  • The brewery giant flags for more expensive beer

    Danish brewing giant Carlsberg warns that their beer may become more expensive in 2023.

    They write in their financial statements that they see that their suppliers’ increased costs will rub off. And increased prices for beer drinkers is a method Carlsberg will use to meet this, they write in a press release.

    The company also writes that if “beer has historically been a resilient consumer good, then higher prices in combination with generally higher inflation can have a negative impact on beer consumption, especially in Europe,” the company writes.

    Brewery giant Carlsberg increased its turnover by ten percent in 2022 to 70.3 billion Danish kroner, writes TT.

  • Smash and grab coup – no one caught

    An unknown number of perpetrators have driven down a gate and through the entrance to a hardware store in Jordbro outside Stockholm.

    The burglary took place late on Monday and the police were alerted to the incident just before 11.30pm.

    When the patrol arrived at the scene, the suspected perpetrators had left the scene in their vehicle.

    The thieves are said to have taken goods to the value of a few hundred thousand kroner.

    No one has been arrested on suspicion of the burglary.

  • More people report abuse after Metoo

    In France, 72,000 rapes were reported in 2021, which is an increase of 24 percent compared to previous years. It shows new figures from the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reports Echo.

    The increase follows a trend from 2017 when the Metoo movement began to spread around the world.

  • Man threatened neighbors – shot by police

    The police were called to an apartment in Kil last night because a man had threatened his neighbors.

    When the patrols arrived, the man barricaded himself in his apartment while the officers tried to talk to him.

    The man then came out of the apartment again and threatened the police patrols with a knife. A police officer then fired live shots at the man, the police said.

    The man was hit and has been taken to hospital with unclear injuries.

  • Fire alarm in apartment building

    Shortly before 07:00, the emergency services and police were alerted that a fire had broken out in an apartment building in Halmstad.

    – When the emergency services got there, they found that there was smoke coming from an apartment. That is why they have now broken open the door to the apartment, says Thomas Fuxborg at the police.

    It is unclear what caused the development of smoke and so far there are no reports of injuries.

  • Man robbed and dumped in field

    A man in his 30s has been robbed of his car, mobile phone and wallet by several masked men in Billeberga.

    The perpetrators have also threatened the man with knife-like and gun-like objects, forced him to withdraw money for them and also assaulted him.

    After the robbery, they dumped the man in a field outside Västra Karaby.

    The man’s injury status is currently unclear.

    The police have searched for the suspects during the night but no one has been found and arrested.

  • Total stop after accident

    There is a total standstill on the E4 at the height of Linköping in the southbound direction after a collision between two cars.

    – One of the cars has driven into the central guardrail and one has gone into the ditch, says Ulf Asplund at the rescue service.

    There are no reports of personal injuries.

    The road is expected to be closed for just over an hour.

  • Four arrested after shooting

    Four people have been arrested after the shooting at an apartment in Strängnäs, the police announce.

    All are in their 20s.

    The police do not want to comment on whether the incident is connected to other acts of violence.

    The incident is being investigated as attempted murder and aggravated weapons offences.

    No one was injured in the shooting.

  • Arrested for murder of woman

    A 35-year-old man has been arrested for the murder of a 60-year-old woman at Hisingen in Gothenburg on Monday.

    He was arrested the same day and after questioning the prosecutor decided on the arrest.

    The man had a relationship with the woman, the police say.

    She was found dead after her colleagues alerted the police when she did not come to work.
