Indian cough medicine may be behind the deaths of 20 children
Two Indian cough medicines are suspected of being behind the death of at least 20 children in Uzbekistan, TT reports.
Now the World Health Organization WHO warns against using them.
The products manufactured by Indian Marion Biotech are, according to the WHO, substandard, and the manufacturer has failed to guarantee safety and quality.
It was the authorities in Uzbekistan that sounded the alarm last month, after the children died after taking cough medicine sold under the name Doc-1 Max. Tests showed that unacceptable levels of glycols, toxic substances used as antifreeze, were present in the medicine.
The cough medicines can be found in several countries and are life-threatening, especially for children, WHO warns.
V criticizes Schyman’s words about peace negotiations
On Thursday morning, the Climate Alliance’s Gudrun Schyman and former MEP Gunnar Hökmark met in a debate on Sveriges Radio regarding the war in Ukraine.
A peace settlement between Russia and Ukraine is needed to end the war, said Gudrun Schyman.
Gunnar Hökmark replied that it “is like saying that you have to make compromises with Hitler”.
The Left Party, for which Schyman has previously been party leader, does not share the views on peace negotiations, tweets the party’s foreign policy spokesperson, Håkan Svenneling.
“Some have asked if V shares Gudrun Schyman’s views on Ukraine. The straight answer is no. The people of Ukraine decide for themselves when and how they go to the negotiating table. Ukraine must have peace. The best thing would therefore be if Putin stopped fighting and Ukraine became free, including Crimea,” writes Håkan Svenneling.

Leif
Difficult to answer Leif.

When it comes to analysis, he has a good foundation to stand on, but of course he can be wrong too. Just like everyone else.
