NATO says no to Serbian government’s request to send army personnel and police to Kosovo, reports Reuters.

The request came in December, after the situation again became tense between Serbia and the former Serbian province of Kosovo, which declared independence in 2008.

According to a UN resolution, Serbia may only station troops in the area if NATO’s commission in Kosovo, KFOR, approves. But KFOR now says no, because they see no reason for Serbian forces to return to Kosovo.

Now the Ministry of Agriculture wants to solve the problem by importing 22,000 tons of red onions.

This is reported by the Norwegian economy site E24.

The reason is to try to curb the record high inflation in the country, and the price of red onions is one of the goods that drives the general price increase.

But first the import must be approved by the president.

The country consumes 17,000 tons of onions a month, according to E24.
