A police officer in Skåne is convicted of attempted fraud after trying to cheat his insurance company out of money, writes Sydsvenskan. The police will also lose their jobs as a result of the incident.

Nilsson was sentenced for the 15 eels he pulled up in September 2021. Then he was caught red-handed and eventually had to pay SEK 38,000 in fines.
The preliminary investigation that has now been closed concerned suspected poaching since 2008. Apparently, not enough evidence was found to continue investigating.
