Refusal of Koran burning lacks legal support according to expert
The decision to reject the application for the Koran burning outside the Turkish embassy has no support in the law, says Henrik Wenander professor of public law to TT.
– I can’t see that the police’s decision has any support in the law, says Henrik Wenander.
He believes that the law must be changed in case the police are to be able to deny the permit.
– You can think that this is a bad law in this situation and that it does not provide enough support for something that the police think is necessary. But in our system, we don’t have it so that the courts can develop the law very much, but it is up to the legislature to change the rules of procedure in such cases.
According to TT, the association that applied for the permit has announced that the decision will be appealed to the administrative court.
Kristersson: Does not rule out sending fighter jets
Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) does not rule out that Sweden will send fighter jets to Ukraine – but says that in such a case it would happen in the future, TT reports.
At the same time, Kristersson points out that Sweden is in a tense security situation with the application for membership in NATO.
– Everyone understands that it is quite a difficult balancing act. I am not ruling anything out, but right now that question is not relevant for the Swedish part, says Kristersson to TT.
Both Kristersson and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj are in Brussels to participate in an EU summit. There, Sweden and several other countries will have their own meeting with the Ukrainian president.
– I think we will have a very intensive discussion with Zelenskyj, says Kristersson.

Boy died after accident with boulders – preliminary investigation closed
It was in March 2022 that a 7-year-old boy died after being crushed by a large rock while playing in an industrial area in the municipality of Oxelösund.
At the time, a preliminary investigation into causing the death of another was initiated as the industrial area belonged to the municipality.
However, the municipality had no active construction work in the area, hence there was neither fence nor warning signs at the site.
Therefore, the prosecutor closes the preliminary investigation and believes that no crime has been committed.
– Their actions are not punishable. There is therefore no causal link between the boy’s death and the municipality’s actions, says assistant prosecutor Madeleine Bergdal.

– We will look at the connections to gang crime and create an overall picture, says Baudin to P1 Morgon.
Baudin points out that it is not possible to be a criminal and a member of the party. Regarding the criminal past, however, Baudin believes that an individual assessment must be made.
– There, however, we have to make an assessment on a case-by-case basis, it looks different.
