Denmark’s former defense minister Claus Hjort Frederiksen is charged with revealing state secrets, TT reports.

The announcement has been expected since Claus Hjort Fredriken, who belongs to conservative Venstre, and three other people were arrested in December last year.

They were then suspected of having leaked top secret information from the country’s two intelligence services.

  • Russia: US personnel in Ukraine legitimate targets

    US personnel deployed to Ukraine are legitimate targets for Russia.

    This is what the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs says, reports Sky News.

    The US is being urged to withdraw its and NATO military equipment from Ukraine to de-escalate its “deepening confrontation” with Russia, the ministry told the US ambassador to Moscow, Tracy Lynne.

  • Children put stones on the train track – traffic was stopped

    Train traffic between Klippan and Perstorp was stopped when children were seen laying stones by the train track.

    The police were called and found two 12-year-old children, who admitted that they had been at the track.

    The children are not suspected of any crime, but guardians were contacted and a report was made to social authorities.

  • Two arrested after underpass robbery

    At around 12.30 the police were alerted to a robbery in Gothenburg.

    A man has been robbed by two people in an underpass. According to the man, one of them shows a gun-like object in the waistband of his trousers.

    The man is punched in the face and forced to hand over his jacket and mobile phone.

    Shortly afterwards, the police arrest two people near the crime scene as one of them is wearing a jacket that matches the one the crime victim got rid of. When a policeman calls the victim’s phone, it rings in one of the suspects’ pockets.

    You also find a weapon-like object.

    The two people are arrested on suspicion of robbery.

  • Russian foreign minister in meeting with top Chinese diplomat

    Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is to meet the top Chinese diplomat Wang Yi on Wednesday, Russian Tass reports.

    According to sources for the news agency, Wang Yi must have arrived in Moscow on Tuesday.

    China has said it plans to put forward a peace plan for the war in Ukraine. The US has accused China of having plans to supply Russia with weapons, something the country denies.

  • Sent home from the emergency room without care: Extreme waiting times

    Several patients were sent home from the emergency room in Mölndal without receiving care during Monday evening, reports the GP.

    The patients were told that they would not be able to get help in time and were asked to come back on Tuesday morning.

    They are said to have been told that only one doctor was on duty during the evening.

    Today they were told that they might not get help either because of “extremely long waiting times”.

    – It’s very tiring, I can’t sleep with my arm, says a 17-year-old girl who has probably broken her arm to the newspaper.

  • Man wanted in custody for Trelleborg shooting

    A man has been requested to be detained in connection with a shooting in Trelleborg on Friday, the Prosecutor’s Office writes in a press release.

    The man is wanted in custody for murder or incitement to murder and for two cases of aggravated weapons offences.

    He is requested to be detained on probable cause, which is the higher level of suspicion.

    NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg holds a press conference shortly after Vladimir Putin addresses the nation. NATO wants Russia to reconsider the pause in the nuclear agreement with the United States, he says.

    Russia is preparing for more war – Putin has made that clear, says Stoltenberg further.

  • Three UN soldiers killed in Mali

    Three soldiers from the UN peacekeeping forces have been killed in Mali, TT reports.

    According to the UN, they died when their vehicle hit a roadside bomb in the central parts of the country.

    Another five soldiers were seriously injured.

    It is unclear what nationality the dead and injured soldiers have.

  • Lavin has attended Kebnekaise

    An avalanche has occurred on Kebnekaise.

    A rescue effort has been launched, where an ambulance helicopter has been called in, among other things.

    The alarm came in to SOS Alarm at 11.27.

    – There have been people in the area, says Marie Andersson, press spokesperson for the police region North, to TT.

    Several mountain rescuers have been sent out to search the area.

    One person has been found in the avalanche and taken to hospital by helicopter. People in the area are being helped to get away from the scene.

  • The women are requested to be remanded in custody in the Tovefallet case

    An 18-year-old and a 20-year-old woman have been in custody since last autumn on suspicion of murdering 21-year-old Tove from Vetlanda – now they are being re-arrested.

    It was on October 16 that Tove disappeared after a night out in Vetlanda. Her body was found two weeks later in a wooded area just outside Vetlanda.

    The 20-year-old woman has previously admitted that she was involved in Tove’s death and the 18-year-old has admitted that she moved Tove’s body.

  • Sabotage against broadcasts of Putin’s speech

    Russian state media have had technical problems broadcasting Putin’s speech, Reuters reports.

    Several of the news agency’s reporters state that the broadcast has been down periodically, including on VGTRK’s website.

    The news agency Ria Novosti states that the problems are due to an overload attack.
