Details: US sends advanced air defense system to Ukraine
The US will send the advanced Patriot air defense system in a new support package to Ukraine, several foreign media reported last night.
The Pentagon has not yet confirmed the information, but an agreement on an aid package is expected to be approved in the near future, reports US CNN.
Patriot can shoot down robots with precision at long range. And in the case of a possible support package, the anti-aircraft system could become the most effective weapon sent to Ukraine so far.

Man dead after traffic accident
A 75-year-old man has died after a traffic accident on Tuesday evening in Sjöbo municipality where two passenger cars collided.
Relatives have been notified.
A woman in her 50s was also taken to hospital with injuries in connection with the accident.
Traffic stop after accident – seven vehicles involved
Five cars and two trucks have collided on the E18 in Hallstahammar. The accident has caused a complete standstill in the direction of Västerås.
– One of the trucks weighs 18 tons. It has to be salvaged and it takes some time. That is why there is a traffic stop right now, says Magnus Jansson Klarin, press spokesperson for police region Mitt.
He says that none of the people involved have been seriously injured in the accident, but that one person complains of pain in the neck.
Restaurant owner was abused by guest
A restaurant owner was attacked by a guest in Gothenburg during the night to Tuesday.
The owner is said to have been hit in the head with a bottle, the police write on their website.
The perpetrator had left before the police arrived at the restaurant.
Traffic accident in Stockholm
Three vehicles are involved in a traffic accident along Essingeleden in the direction of Södertälje in Stockholm.
Two of the road’s four lanes are closed and there are long queues.
– Since it is rush hour traffic, there will be some brake oil in the traffic for quite a while, even if there are two lanes that are open, says Bengt Olsson, press manager at the Swedish Transport Administration.
Ekot’s review: Arla exaggerates emissions reduction
The milk group Arla states that since 2015 they have reduced emissions on their farms by 7 percent. But now a review of Sweden’s Radio Echo that almost the entire reduction was measured between 2015 and 2016.
Ekot believes that the reduction may be due to Arla changing the way the company measures emissions – and thus “greenwashing” the numbers.
Arla now says that the company will review how it reports emission targets going forward.
Explosions in central Kyiv
Kyiv Governor Oleksiy Kuleba says several air defense robots have exploded in the Ukrainian capital, reports Kyiv Independent.
The district of Shevchenkivskyi in central Kyiv has been exposed, according to the mayor Vitali Klitschko.
The air traffic alert has gone off since just before five Swedish time on Wednesday morning and residents are asked to stay in shelter.
Investigation after the Easter coup finished
An investigation into the police’s handling of the Easter coup will be presented on Wednesday, TT reports.
When the far-right Danish politician Rasmus Paludan burned Korans during Easter, unrest arose in several locations in Sweden.

Russian arrested – wanted to fight for Ukraine
A Russian citizen who tried to enlist in Ukraine’s army has been arrested by Russia’s FSB intelligence service, the state-controlled Tass news agency said according to Sky News.
The man was arrested at the airport in Krasnoyarsk in Siberia and now faces up to 20 years in prison for attempted treason.
Rush after covid tests
The spread of covid-19 is increasing sharply in Sweden.
This was noticed both in the Public Health Agency’s statistics on confirmed cases and in Apoteket’s sales of rapid tests. The latter has gone up by 30 percent in the last week and by over 100 percent compared to the month before, writes TT.
– We see a clear connection between the demand for antigen tests and the proportion of positive test responses. It is almost exactly the same percentage increase in the number of antigen tests sold as the percentage increase in the percentage of positive test responses, says Elin Sundin, category manager at Apoteket.
The number of confirmed cases of corona in Sweden increased last week by 58 percent.
Fewer have drowned this year compared to last year
So far this year, 63 people have died in drowning accidents in Sweden, compared to 93 people in total all of last year.
This is shown by the Swedish Lifesaving Society preliminary compilation.
“To round off the penultimate month of the year in line with the trend that fewer people die in connection with drowning accidents, we focus the messages around ice safety and cold water as the cold temperatures make themselves felt in almost the entire country,” writes SLS in the summary.
The ice has settled on some small and medium-sized lakes in Central Sweden.

How is the train traffic going now that the Swedish Transport Agency switched to its new system?

Hey! According to the Swedish Transport Administration, the system change has worked well and it should not affect train traffic.
On the other hand, trains can be canceled for other reasons, but it does not seem at the moment that the IT change affects that.

Hi Anna! The women are still in custody for the same suspicions – kidnapping, murder and breach of the peace of mind.
On Thursday, the prosecutor will request whether the detention period should be extended or not. At the moment, it does not seem that a possible prosecution will be brought until the beginning of next year.
