Dengue fever is on the rise worldwide
Dengue fever, which is spread by mosquitoes, has increased greatly in the world. In 2000, approximately 500,000 cases were reported to the WHO compared to 2019 when the figure has risen to over five million, reports SR Ekot.
The reason for the increase is climate change, which meant more rain and warmer temperatures.
Urbanisation, migration and lack of sewage systems also contribute.

China conducts military exercises in the Taiwan Strait
China announced on Saturday that it is starting a three-day military exercise in the Taiwan Strait.
The goal is stated to be to practice combat readiness. A military spokesman said the exercise area is north, south and east of Taiwan.

One person shot in Helsingborg
After an alarm about gunfire in the Mariastaden area of Helsingborg shortly before 2 a.m., a person with gunshot wounds was taken to hospital.
The condition of the injured person who was shot is unclear.
A suspected crime scene is cordoned off and will be investigated by technicians and a sniffer dog.
The case is classified as attempted murder.
Björn killed joggers in Italy
A bear has attacked and killed a jogger in the Alpine province of Trento in northern Italy. The attack took place on Wednesday and is the first of its kind, a source told AFP.
The jogger’s family raised the alarm when he did not return from the run. A search operation found the body with deep wounds on the neck, arms and chest. An autopsy confirms that it moves like a bear attack.

North Korea tests ‘tsunami’ drones
North Korea says it has conducted new tests of underwater drones capable of carrying nuclear warheads, writes Reuters.
The attack weapon goes by the name “tsunami”.
According to state news agency KCNA, the test was conducted between April 4 and 7, when the drones covered 100 kilometers in 71 hours and 6 minutes and successfully knocked out the simulated target.

Several injured after murder in Tel Aviv
A man in his 30s has died and six people are injured after two acts of violence on the promenade in Tel Aviv, the Israeli newspaper reports Haaretz.
A person must have first opened fire on passers-by.
Subsequently, several people have been hit by a car.
A suspected perpetrator is said to have been shot. It is unclear if the man reported dead is the same as the perpetrator.
Israeli police write on Twitter that a vehicle ran over several people before overturning.
The incident is described as a terrorist attack by Israeli authorities.

Fire in villa
A villa on Lidingö outside Stockholm is on fire.
– It’s a full-scale fire. Right now, the rescue service is working on site to get the fire under control, says Rebecca Landberg, police spokesperson.
It is unclear if there is anyone left in the house.

Suspected murder in Dalsland
The police are investigating a suspected murder in Dalsland.

The armed forces warn of gunshots in the forest

Climate scientists get anxiety from the internet hate
Almost four out of ten climate scientists say they have been threatened or harassed online because of their work, writes Nature and refers to a survey as the organization Global Witness did.
The survey is based on responses from 468 researchers from different countries.
Many of them also say that the online hate has given them anxiety, sleep problems and worries about their reputation.
More than a third of the exposed women also say that the online attacks are linked to their gender. 13 percent have received threats of sexual violence.
The results are worrying, says Henry Peck who works for the organization in London – because the online hate can discourage researchers from continuing their work or sharing their findings.

American journalist Evan Gershkovich was officially charged with espionage in Russia on Friday, according to the Russian news agency Tass.
Gershkovich, who is employed by the newspaper The Wall Street Journal, categorically denies the accusations leveled against him by the FSB security service.

To your second question. It doesn’t seem like there has ever been any exclusion or “pause” of a country from NATO, as far as I can see. So it is primarily unclear whether it will work.
Also unclear if NATO would want to exclude Turkey, temporarily or permanently. In that case, the concern is great that Turkey would lean against Russia.
