Collision between car and truck – total stop

A collision between a car and a truck has taken place on the E18 near Sandra, approximately eight kilometers southeast of Årjäng in Värmland.

The alarm came in shortly after 7 p.m.

– There is a complete standstill in traffic in both directions. Our personnel have just arrived at the scene, says Mats Öhman, press spokesperson at the police in Bergslagen.

The extent of the injury is currently unclear.

  • Total stop on the Västkustbanan

    The trains on the Västkustbanan have been stopped after a several hundred meter long plastic blanket flew up and wrapped itself in the power line in Kävlinge municipality.

    According to a preliminary forecast, the trains will be able to run again around 21.00.

    There are several train operators running on the route. Including Skånetrafiken, SJ and Öresundståg.

    Some of the operators state that the route can be replaced by buses, while others are trying to reroute the trains. Affected customers are asked to follow the updates in the respective company’s app or online.

  • Train collides with passenger car – woman dead

    A passenger train collided with a passenger car in Mora municipality at around 4.30pm on Wednesday. Several passengers are said to have been on board the train.

    Ambulance, police and emergency services were sent to the scene.

    Later in the evening, the police announced that a woman had died in the collision.

    – A 45-year-old woman has been identified as deceased. It happened on an unguarded railway crossing, says Mats Öhman, press officer at the police in Bergslagen.

    It is unclear how the collision occurred and the car has been impounded.

    The appeal trial against the spy brothers Peyman and Payam Kia ends today.

    The brothers have made concessions before the appeal court hearing, writes TT.

    42-year-old Peyman Kia – who was sentenced in the district court to life imprisonment for aggravated espionage and unauthorized position with secret information, has admitted that he provided secret intelligence information to Russia for payment.

    He is now said to be trying to do everything he can to help the investigation move forward – and says that much of the information he sold to Russia has been “100 percent false”.

    Payam Kia, 35, was sentenced to nine years and ten months in prison for aggravated espionage in the district court, has admitted that he handed over envelopes at the Russian embassy and collected payment at a library in Uppsala. However, he denies that it was espionage.

    Today was the last day of the trial in the Court of Appeal – and the prosecutor thinks that the sentence for the younger brother should be increased to 14 years instead.
