Civilians killed in Russian attack on Kramatorsk
Two people were killed and ten injured in Russian attacks on the city of Kramatorsk in eastern Ukraine on Saturday, reports TT and refers to Ukrainian authorities.
Journalists from the AFP news agency on the ground in the city heard about ten explosions almost simultaneously and saw smoke rising over a park in the afternoon. At the scene, they then witnessed a woman die from her injuries.
Soon after, another round of explosions was heard in a district two kilometers away. There, the journalists were met by a badly injured taxi driver.
According to regional governor Pavlo Kyrylenko, Russia used cluster bombs in the attacks.
“They deliberately hit the city and tried to kill as many of its civilians as possible,” Kyrylenko writes on social media, stating that a dozen residential buildings were damaged.

Russian state media: Putin visited Mariupol
Russian President Vladimir Putin has visited the Russian-occupied city of Mariupol.
This is stated by the Russian state news agency Ria Novosti, which refers to the Kremlin’s press service.
Putin visited the occupied Crimean peninsula yesterday and arrived in Mariupol by helicopter.
He drove around in a car and is said to have talked to the city’s residents and been informed about the city’s development.
90 percent of housing stock has been destroyed or damaged in the war.
The news agency has not published anyone from the visit to its article.
Vatican closes embassy
Vatican City is closing its embassy in Nicaragua as tensions between the countries rise, Vatican News reports.
After Pope Francis recently compared Nicaragua to Nazi Germany, and called authoritarian Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega “unbalanced,” the countries’ relations have been on the verge of collapse.
The Vatican diplomat in Nicaragua, Monsignor Marcel Diouf, traveled to Costa Rica on Friday.
That the embassy was closed “came as a result of a request from the Nicaraguan government,” according to Vatican News. (TT)
Poison release at Triumfglass
Triumfglass’ factory in Sävedalen in Partille was hit on Saturday evening by a large release of ammonia. Emergency services have cordoned off the site to try to prevent the toxic gas from spreading.
It is still unclear what caused the leak, which was called in at 11pm on Saturday evening.
– We are preparing to try to stop the release and are prepared for if it were to get out, but the assessment is that there is no danger to people on the outside and the building is empty so no one has been injured, says Lars Jostelius, alarm and command officer at the rescue service ..

At least twelve dead after earthquake

A strong earthquake has hit southern Ecuador and northern Peru on Saturday.
At least twelve people have died, Ecuador’s president Guillermo Lasso announced in a televised speech.
Via Twitter, he urges the country’s population to remain calm.
The quake had a magnitude of 6.8, according to the US Geological Survey.
People are said to be stuck under rubble, and both homes and buildings have been damaged, writes TT.
Suspected attempted murder – boy to hospital
A boy under the age of 18 has been taken to hospital after a fight outside a HVB home for young people in Malmö.
– We receive it from callers from the scene who tell us that there has been a fight. When we arrive at the scene, we find a boy who is just under 18 years old and who has been injured by a sharp object on his upper body, says Patric Fors, spokesperson for the police in the South region.
The crime scene has been cordoned off and a technical examination will be carried out. Dog patrols also participate in the operation.
No one has been arrested.
The boy was awake and articulate and could be heard by the police.
– We are on site to be able to interrogate him further when the medical services are done with him, says Patric Fors.
A preliminary investigation into attempted murder or manslaughter has been opened.
Man arrested – had weapon in hotel
The police were called to Kungen Kurva south of Stockholm earlier this evening, after a man displayed a gun-like object at a hotel.
When the police arrived at the scene, the man, who is in his 40s, had left the hotel. The police launched a search operation.
But the man then came back, and could be arrested on suspicion of serious weapons offences.
No weapon has been found.

The demonstrations in Paris continue after Emmanuel Macron’s decision to raise the retirement age from 62 to 64.
At 19 on Saturday night, the protests started from Place d’Italie in the south of the capital, according to Le Monde direct reporting.
About a hundred police officers are at the scene, and probably 4,000 protesters, writes BFM TV.
In Bordeaux, the protesters clashed with the police at 5 p.m. They set garbage cans on fire, and the police used tear gas. So far, nine people have been arrested there.

Police action to prevent street racing
A large police operation is currently underway at Hisingen in Gothenburg. Earlier in the evening, upwards of 500 cars gathered in the area.
The reason is that the police have tried to prevent street racing.

– There are a lot of people on site. There are cars that accelerate, drive around and brake. We have received calls from members of the public wondering what is going on, says Andreas Odén, officer on duty at the police in the West region. and continues:
– There are different types of cars. They are quite powerful cars that rev and make noise and stuff like that.

– It is good if you can stay away from this area, says Andreas Odén.
According to the police, it has been somewhat chaotic.
– But not rowdy in the sense that there is some violence, says Andreas Odén.

One to hospital after drowning alarm
The police were called to an area on Södermalm in Stockholm due to a drowning alarm.
There, a 35-year-old man had ended up in the water for an unknown reason.
– He is taken to hospital by ambulance. Whoever ends up in the water involuntarily is awake and chilled, says Daniel Vikdahl, press spokesperson for the police in the Stockholm region.
According to the police, there is no indication that anyone else was involved in the incident.
The alarm came in at 7:16 p.m.
Strong earthquake off the coast of Ecuador
Ecuador’s coast was hit by a strong earthquake on Saturday, writes TT. There are currently no reports of any major destruction or damage.
The earthquake had a magnitude of 6.8, according to the US Geological Survey, USGS.
The quake was also felt in Peru.
Big train stop
There is a stop in train traffic in large parts of the Stockholm area due to technical problems, according to the Swedish Transport Administration.
Long-distance trains, regional trains, express trains and even SL’s commuter trains are affected.
The fault causes train delays in large parts of central and southern Sweden, including the Stockholm-Gothenburg and Stockholm-Malmö routes.
A repairman is on site, but at the moment there is no forecast.

Russia continues to bombard the area with intense robotic attacks.
The nuclear power plant recently suffered a serious power outage, following a Russian missile attack.
All the world’s expertise continues to warn.
“Each attack is like rolling a die. If we let this go on, our luck will run out one day,” IAEA chief Rafael Grossi said in a speech yesterday.
Hoping for an answer this time then.. how are the victims living now .. from the earthquake in Turkey and Syria? Do they have a roof over their heads or food.. do they still get help?

It seems to be still tough down there. Many have lost their homes and the other day the area was also affected by floods.
They get a lot of help from the outside world, but rebuilding takes time.
