  • Car refused to stop – police chase with dog and helicopter

    When the police tried to stop and check a car in Upplands-Bro outside Stockholm on Monday evening, the driver refused to stop and instead accelerated away from the scene.

    – We followed the car, which then stopped on its own accord. Then the people fled from the vehicle, says Carina Skagerlind, press spokesperson for the police.

    Right now, a police hunt is underway with dogs, patrols and a helicopter to search for the people.

    – We don’t really know why they ran and of course we want to find out.

    Vetlanda municipality has decided to close its contact center after a man was threatening several businesses, reports Vetlandaposten.

    – We have a threatening situation here in the municipality against various businesses, says communications manager Annelie Jönsson to the newspaper on Monday.

    The man is in his 40s. On Friday, he was arrested after staff called security guards, but was later released.

    On Monday he was back at the contact centre. Then the decision was made to close it.

    According to Annelie Jönsson, the threat must be linked to the man being dissatisfied with a decision.

    Nilsson was sentenced for the 15 eels he pulled up in September 2021. Then he was caught red-handed and eventually had to pay SEK 38,000 in fines.

    The preliminary investigation that has now been closed concerned suspected poaching since 2008. Apparently, not enough evidence was found to continue investigating.
