  • Svenska kraftnät’s new proposal on electricity support for companies

    Photo: Stina Stjernkvist/TT

Now Svenska kraftnät has presented its new proposal on what the electricity support for companies should look like.

The authority bases the proposal largely on the same model that was previously presented to households.

The size of the electricity subsidy is determined retroactively based on how large the consumption was during the period October 2021 to September 2022 in electricity areas 3 and 4, i.e. southern Sweden.

Those with electricity outlets in electricity area 4 receive SEK 0.79 per kWh consumed during the period and those in electricity area 3 receive SEK 0.50 per kWh consumed.

No electricity subsidy is paid to businesses and legal entities that have electricity outlets in electricity areas 1 and 2.

Svenska kraftnät also proposes a maximum ceiling of just over SEK 22 million, according to EU regulations.

Now Svenska kraftnät will apply to be allowed to use capacity fees to finance a model for electricity subsidies with the Energy Markets Inspectorate.

    – The compensation levels are based on how large the average price has been in the electricity areas in relation to a reference price of 75 öre kWh. As the average price in electricity areas 1 and 2 has been lower than the reference price during the period, no electricity subsidy is given, says Malin Stridh, head of the Electricity Market, Swedish Power Grid.

It is still unclear when the money will be paid out.
