  • Car caught fire on E20 – road closed

    A car caught fire on E20 in Gothenburg during the evening.

    – It’s a car that caught fire while driving, and it completely caught fire, says Kalle Kivistö, alarm and line operator at the rescue service to Göteborgs-Posten.

    The road in the direction of Alingsås has been closed completely and is expected to be open again in half an hour.

  • 13 injured after explosion in Dnipro

    At least 13 people have been injured after an explosion in the Ukrainian city of Dnipro.

    The number of injured is expected to increase, however, as several residents are said to have been trapped under the rubble of a two-story building.

    According to the regional mayor Serhiy Lysak, three of them are injured children.

    There is a heavy fire inside a restaurant in Veberöd outside Lund municipality.

  • Woman seriously injured after traffic accident with motorcycle

    Two cars and a motorcycle collided in Ängelholm on Saturday afternoon.

    A 35-year-old woman was taken to hospital after the accident.

    During the evening, Region Skåne announced that the woman has serious injuries.

    The police are investigating the accident as negligence in traffic.

  • Man beaten – taken to hospital

    A man was beaten and abused by several men in Husby northwest of Stockholm during the evening. According to the police, he was beaten by “a whole group of other men”.

    A large operation was underway at the scene and the perpetrators managed to leave. No one has been arrested.

    The man had to be taken to hospital by ambulance and a preliminary investigation into serious assault has been launched. However, he himself does not want to participate in the investigation.

    The background to the incident is unclear.

  • A-tractor accident – one to hospital

    An A-tractor and a car have collided on county road 110 outside Bjuv.

    Five people are involved in the accident and the driver of the tractor has been taken to hospital by ambulance.

    – It is a side collision between an epa tractor and a car, says Ola Åström, team leader at SOS Alarm.

  • Biden has signed the debt ceiling law

    The threat of a sovereign bankruptcy is averted for the United States. This after President Joe Biden has signed the debt ceiling law, TT reports.

    The proposal was negotiated last week by Biden and Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.

    On Wednesday, the law was approved by the House of Representatives and then by the Senate on Thursday.

  • Police employee is suspected of defrauding the unemployment insurance fund of 300,000

    A man in Gothenburg is charged with serious crime of benefit after having received a total of SEK 300,000 from the unemployment fund, over six months, writes GP.

    The man has reported time to Unionen’s social security fund, even though he worked for both the police and a security company.

    In total, it is about 2,847 hours during the current period, which corresponds to over 352 working days.

    The man denies any wrongdoing. He claims that he was part-time unemployed and did not manage to report time correctly.

  • A-tractor in crash – three to hospital

    Three people have been taken to hospital after an accident with an A-tractor in the municipality of Marks.

    – The people were in a parking lot when we arrived at the scene of the accident. It is unclear how the injuries occurred, says Kalle Fägersten, officer on duty at the rescue service.

    When the three people were taken to hospital, all had minor head injuries and scrapes, according to police.

    – It’s a guy who has been driving with three people on his epa tractor, says Johan Josarp, the police officer on duty.

    The alarm came in at 6 p.m.

  • Suspected knifeman busted on Järva week

    A suspected knifeman has been busted on Järvaveckan.

    The man, who is in his 30s, was checked by security guards in the entrance and a knife was found in his bag.

    He tried to run away, but was tackled by the guards. He has now been taken into police custody.

    – He is now suspected of serious crimes against the Knife Act and drug crimes, says Daniel Wikdahl, press spokesperson at the police.

  • Man wanted in custody on suspicion of murder

    A 30-year-old man has been requested to be detained on probable cause on suspicion of murdering a 20-year-old man in Strängnäs earlier this week, the Prosecutor’s Office states.

    The man died after a fight outside in connection with a pizzeria.

    According to information to Aftonbladet, the man had been stabbed in the throat.

  • Suspect man climbed through sunroof

    A man was seen climbing into a truck via a roof hatch in Rågsved.

    The caller to the police suspected that the man was about to steal the vehicle.

    When a group of policemen got there, it turned out that the man was the owner of the truck.

    Why he chose to climb in via the sunroof is unclear.

  • Strömmer: The situation is much worse than I thought

    Justice Minister Gunnar Strömmer gave a speech at Järvaveckan in northwest Stockholm on Saturday.

    He focused on crime and gang crime in the country.

    – The situation is very serious, of course I knew that when I took office as Minister of Justice. But I still have to admit that after just over six months at the post, I unfortunately have to state that it is worse than I thought. Much worse, says Strömmer.

    In order to fight crime, Strömmer believes that more effective crime fighting is needed.

    – This shift will have consequences. And this applies not least to children and young people, and the intersection between social and legal interventions, says Strömmer.

    Earlier this week, Strömmer announced that the government wants to proceed with the proposal for secret coercive measures. The proposal aimed, among other things, at the police being allowed to intercept more people to a greater extent.

    Two hit by golf cart – taken to hospital

    During Saturday, a golf cart collided with two pedestrians on the island of Ven in Landskrona.

    The two people, a man and a woman, were taken to hospital by ambulance. The extent of the damage is still unclear.

    After transport by boat from the mainland, the police are now at the scene of the accident.

    The injured persons are a man aged 35 and a woman aged 20.

    The driver is a 75-year-old man.

    The incident is being investigated as causing bodily harm.

  • Young men filmed horse for Tiktok – got lame

    Three men in their 20s broke into a paddock at the Ulricehamnsbygden riding club and filmed one of the horses.

    Now it is lame and the three men are suspected of arbitrary proceedings and damage, write Borås newspaper.

    “You see a drunken teenager throwing himself on the horse. The horse is a pony and the guy is way too big for that horse,” says the riding club’s operations manager to the newspaper.

    The incident has meant that the horse can no longer be used in the riding school’s operations.
