  • Increased fuel prices eat up reduced tax

It only took one day before the government’s tax cut on fuel was eaten up by new price increases, writes TT.

On Monday, the supermarkets will raise the petrol price by 30 öre to 19.65 kroner a litre, while diesel will be raised by 60 öre to 24.21 kroner.

At the turn of the year, the combined tax effect, reduced fuel tax in combination with index adjustments, meant that the petrol price was reduced by 14 öre, while diesel became 41 öre cheaper.

  • The Swedish Agricultural Agency’s cat register opens – e-service overloaded

From January 2, all cats must start being registered with the Swedish Agency for Agriculture. But on Monday morning, the authority reports disturbances in the e-service.

“The e-service is currently overloaded and it may therefore be difficult to register your cat,” writes the Swedish Agency for Agriculture on its website.

    – We initially expect a high pressure on our e-service, but at the same time fully understand that not everyone will register their cats immediately. We see it as a long-term effort to get all cats into the register, says Anders Elfström, head of department at the Swedish Agricultural Agency, in a press release.

The new law on mandatory marking and registration of cats should make it easier to find stray cats.

It can also raise the status of the cat as a pet.

  • Experts worried after wave of data breaches

The latest attacks appear in part to be different, reports say Today’s news.

Criminals have previously sent demands for ransom, but experts are concerned as it has not happened now, the newspaper writes.

    – Many different attacks are being carried out now, presumably from different actor groups. It could be a coincidence that they happen to hit Swedish targets at the same time, but it is hard not to think that they could be coordinated, says Leif Nixon, IT security expert at Sectra Communications, to Dagens Nyheter.
