Biden visits the border with Mexico

Joe Biden is to visit the border between Mexico and the United States for the first time since he took office as president of the United States.

The visit will take place in connection with the meeting that Biden and the leaders of Mexico and Canada will have in Mexico City next week.

Biden says his hope is to see what’s going on at the border.

  • Poland buys 116 tanks from the US

    Poland has signed an agreement to buy 116 American Abrams tanks, writes the Norwegian news agency NTB.

    Poland is gearing up its defenses heavily, after Russia invaded their neighbor Ukraine.

    The tanks are said to cost 1.3 billion euros, corresponding to over 14 billion Swedish kronor. According to NTB, the US Foreign Ministry is contributing around 200 million dollars in support.

    Last year, Poland bought 250 tanks of the same type to be delivered in 2024.

    The first deliveries from the latest purchase are said to take place already this year.

    The heavy snow storm has caused it in parts of Sweden during the day.

    SMHI’s warning for northern Götaland is at the second highest level, orange, and will remain so until 09:00 tomorrow morning.

    A car has skidded into a central guardrail on the E18/E45 in Grums.

  • Rapper no longer suspected of bombing

    The rapper who was suspected of the explosion in Grimsta in western Stockholm is no longer a suspect.
