US President Joe Biden is considering a trip to Finland after the country officially became the 31st member of the NATO defense alliance, reports NBC News.
At the same time, a visit to Sweden is also being discussed. However, no official decision has been made yet.
– A visit where the US president also stops in Sweden, a country whose security status is in limbo, is more significant than just celebrating Finland’s accession, says Michael O’Hanlon at the Bookings Institution think tank.

Suspected remains of human body found
Suspected remains of a human body have been found in a forest area outside Arlanda on Friday evening.
– It was people who had been out in the forest who contacted the police, says Mats Eriksson, press spokesperson at the Stockholm Police.

A-tractor in a traffic accident with a car
Ambulance and emergency services have been alerted after a traffic accident in Grums, reports P4 Värmland.
An A-tractor has collided with a passenger car and three people are said to be involved, but it is unknown if anyone was injured.
Fire in explosive carpets
The emergency services were alerted on Friday evening about burning explosive carpets in Kungsbacka municipality, reports Göteborgs-Posten.
– They were going to build on the site, so that’s why they had the explosive carpets, says Lars Larsson, alarm operator at the Greater Gothenburg rescue service.
The explosive mats were made of rubber, and created heavy smoke.
– It was on fire when we got there, but it’s out now. We are packing up.

On Friday, Putin signed a law that makes it easier for Russia to strip people of their Russian citizenship, write Sky News.
However, it only affects people who were not born with Russian citizenship, but received it later in life.
They can lose their citizenship if they “threaten national security”.
Threats include, among other things, “incitement to actions against Russia’s territorial integrity, intrusion into the lives of statesmen and organizing an armed rebellion”.
According to the Russian news agency RIA, Putin also signed a law increasing the penalty for high treason to life imprisonment. Previously, the penalty was up to 20 years in prison.
This is how many asylum applications Sweden granted in 2022
5,750 people’s asylum applications were granted by Sweden in 2022, reports The European portal with reference to figures from Eurostat.
That is fewer than the EU average and the second lowest figure since the measurements began.
Sweden rejected 12,590 applications and is in 14th place in terms of granted applications in relation to the number of inhabitants. The list is topped by Austria (21,275) and at the bottom is Hungary (30).
Double fire alarm: “They started burning again”
The emergency services were alerted to a fire in a forest area in Haninge on Friday evening.

The death toll has risen to 25 after a Russian robot hit an apartment building in the Ukrainian city of Uman, south of Kiev.

A fire broke out in connection with the attack early Thursday morning.
When the robot crashed, 58-year-old Serhiy Lubivskyj was in the building.
– All my neighbors are gone, no one is left. Only the kitchens are left, he tells Sky news.

The law has previously only covered television and radio in the country.
