Berlin changes street names to do away with colonialism
Several street names were changed in the “African quarters” in the Wedding district in northern Berlin during Friday, writes The Guardian
Among other things, they have removed street names that honored Germans who played a role in German colonialism and instead named the streets after Africans who fought against German rule.
“I hope that the names of all the colonizers that are still on monuments and streets disappear, not only in Germany but all over the world” said Jean-Pierre Félix-Eyoum,
He is a relative of Rudolf and Emily Duala Manga Bell, king and queen of Duala in present-day Cameroon who fought against German colonialism.
They had a square named after them during the Friday which was previously named after the German Emperor’s envoy to West Africa in the late 19th century, Gustav Nachtigal.

Hey!
How old are you when you write “at the age of 55”?
Are you 55, 51, 59 or does everything between 51 and 59 fit in?
Why not just write the correct age?
Rolf
People aged 55 are older than 51 but they are not 59 ?
Sometimes we write like that because we don’t know exactly.
It can also be for publicity reasons. To protect the person’s identity a little extra.
