  • 23 missing after hippo attack

A one-year-old boy died when a hippo attacked a riverboat in Malawi, reports say BBC.

The boat capsized in the attack, which happened on Monday.

But 23 people are still missing, and hope of finding survivors is fading.

  • Inmates were not allowed to vote in the election – JO criticizes

The Ombudsman for Justice (JO) is now directing partly serious criticism at three of the country’s institutions and one detention center, reports the Siren news agency.

The reason is that inmates were not given the opportunity to vote in last year’s parliamentary elections.

For example, a man sitting in isolation at the Umeå Institution was forgotten and on election day, September 11, he was informed that it was not possible to vote.

The inmates who were affected were also given no information about the possibility to vote by proxy.

JO writes, among other things, that “what happened is completely unacceptable” and that “the Umeå institution deserves serious criticism”.

Now Energy and Food Minister Ebba Busch (KD) is striking back against the move.

    – KD, SD, M and L, we are all for wind power – all cooperation parties stand behind the analysis that more electricity will be needed, and that all fossil-free power types will be needed, she tells TT and refers to the Tidö Agreement.

    – Here you are otherwise obliged to answer why you want to say no to conditions for lower electricity prices for households, no to new green jobs, Swedish job opportunities for Swedish mothers and fathers, and why you want to say no to being able to meet both a strong welfare and the climate goals , she continues.

  • I have a very hard time understanding the purpose of these Hövding “helmets”. Maybe someone can help me?

They are expensive, have to be charged all the time, seem as unwieldy as a regular helmet.

Are they safer? Or is it only because of not wanting to wear a helmet?

    apple

According to many tests, they should protect better than a normal bicycle helmet during normal cycling (ie not extreme sports). This is also how they have been launched.

But other tests have shown the opposite.

Presumably the most common reason is that you don’t have to wear anything on your head?
