The semi-finals of the Hockey Women’s League started on Saturday. Kiekko-Espoo, TPS, HIFK and Kärpät took the wins.
The Women’s League playoffs kicked off on Saturday with four matches. There are eight teams in the playoffs. Kiekko-Espoo faced KalPan, HIFK played against HPK, TPS got Ilves and Kärpät Kuortane.
The reigning champion was superior
A one-sided show was seen in Espoo when reigning champion Kiekko-Espoo won last season’s silver medalist KalPan 8–0. Kalpan goalkeeper Tiina Ranne fell into considerable disk rain. He stretched the puck on the road 61 times. Despite the eight goals conceded, the wrist defense percentage was 88.4. With a Polish colleague Tiia Pajarinen survived 18 fights.
Kako’s power player was the star of the Kiekko-Espoo national team Elisa Holopainen, which hit the powers of 4 + 2 = 6. There was also an efficient game head Emmi Rakkolainen (1 + 2 = 3).
TPS went from loss to profit

This season, 55 points from Helsinki were awarded to the entry points in the regular season. Matilda Nilsson mixed Siiri Yrjölä and Krista Parkkonen. Everyone got one entry point.
HPK: n Kassidy Sauve rejected 42 times. HIFK: n Iina Kuusela blocked the goal 18 times.
The flies drilled the victory from Kuortane
The final match of the evening saw quite a thriller. Kuortane took the lead three times in the match, but Kärpät always put up with the levels and eventually lost. Summer in Käyhkön with the paint at the end of the third batch. Match for Kärpi 4–3.

The playoff series are played with the best of five system, ie the semi-final place is lost with three wins. The finals of the series will be played from April 17th. The Finnish Women’s Championship will be announced no later than April 24.
The four teams in the lower division of the Women’s League who have been eliminated in the playoffs will play a double qualifier against each other. The top two teams in the series will play in the Women’s League Preliminaries in the 2022-23 season.
