Although Overwatch loot boxes can be purchased with money, in-game events are also one of the methods used to get these boxes. When your account is leveled up or you play a role that is not very preferred – like playing a tank – you get a loot box. Here, Twitch publisher Pixipui has collected 1,228 grains (!) from these boxes and started to open all of them live on Tuesday and opened the box for 5 hours.
Popular Overwatch publisher and tank player Flats hasn’t played the game for a while. He also opened the 200 boxes accumulated as part of this event live. Overwatch content producer Bro You Wack, whose first video was a “Loot Box Opening” video, uploaded the video he opened the last 100 boxes to Youtube.
The reason why players participate in such a collective event is that after Tuesday, all boxes are automatically opened. The players wanted to experience the “excitement of opening a box” with their followers.
