He was a big favourite, but Season 2 winner Max Giermann was busted in the final episode of Season 4 of LOL: Last One Laughing, making way for a new owner of the trophy.
Here in the article you will learn who won season 4, why the finale provided a surprise for audiences and when we can expect Season 5.
There are two winners of LOL: Last One Laughing Season 4
Kurt Krömer and Michael Mittermeier have won Season 4 of LOL: Last One Laughing together. That wasn’t on the show before.
How did that happen? It is well known that each LOL season takes place within six hours. If you don’t laugh, you win 50,000 euros for a good cause. As the minutes tick by in episode 6 of the new season and only Krömer and Mittermeier are left, director Michael “Bully” Herbig tries everything to make them twist a corner of their mouth. Both have to face each other as if in a duel, surrounded by all the contestants of Season 4 who had previously been kicked out and a giggling live audience. But the clock is running out. Bully announces both as winners who share the prize.
Who gets the donations from Michael Mittermeier and Kurt Krömer?
Amazon Studios
The cast of LOL season 4
Mittermeier donates his 25,000 euros to vulamasango.org, an orphanage project in South Africa, and to Rea Garvey’s Saving an Angel Foundation.
Kurt Krömer will donate his part of the profit to the Scheinbar Varieté in Berlin, where he had his first performances.
When is Last One Laughing season 5 coming to Amazon?
In recent years, with every new season of LOL, the order for the next batch of episodes has been announced. So far there is no official confirmation of season 5 and therefore no start date.
If Amazon is satisfied with the viewing numbers, an extension of the show would be obvious. Then season 5 could be released in April 2024, like in the last two years.
Who won seasons 1, 2 and 3 of LOL?
In front of Krömer and Mittermeier, three stars were happy about the somewhat unwieldy LOL trophy:
Torsten Sträter won the first season.
Max Giermann won Season 2 in his second participation.
Anke Engelke finally won Season 3 after being kicked out twice.
