LAST MINUTE | SANCTIONS RESPONSE FROM RUSSIA TO THE USA
Before the meeting to be held by the foreign ministers of the two countries, a flash statement came from the Russian Embassy in Washington.
In a statement on Facebook, the embassy emphasized that it was Washington, not Moscow, that created the tension. ‘We will not back down on threats of US sanctions’ it was said.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his US counterpart Antony Blinken will hold a telephone conversation today. It is stated that the latest situation in Ukraine will be discussed at the meeting.
The two met on January 21 in Geneva to discuss the Russia-Ukraine crisis.
After the face-to-face meeting, the ministers appeared in front of the press separately.
