LAST MINUTE | ZELENSKY: WE AGREE TO NEGOTIATE WITHOUT PRECONDITIONS
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced that a meeting will be held with the Russian delegation at the Belarusian border, without preconditions.
In a statement on his social media account, Zelenskiy gave information about his meeting with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko.
“We agreed that the Ukrainian delegation will meet with the Russian delegation in the Pripyat river region on the Ukraine-Belarus border without preconditions,” Zelenskiy said.
Stating that Lukashenko guaranteed the security of the Ukrainian delegation in Belarus, Zelenskiy said:
“Lukashenko assumed responsibility for the grounding of all aircraft, helicopters and rockets on the territory of Belarus during the travel, negotiations and return of the Ukrainian delegation.”
THE RUSSIAN DELEGATION ALSO CONFIRMED THE MEETING
The head of Russia’s delegation to negotiate with Ukraine, Adviser to the President of Russia, Vladimir Medinskiy, stated that the Ukrainian delegation agreed to participate in the negotiations in the Gomel region of Belarus.
Medinskiy, in a statement to reporters in Gomel, stated that the time given by Russia to negotiate with Ukraine until 15.00 has expired, but that news came from Ukraine at these minutes.
Medinskiy stated that the Ukrainian delegation sent news and said, “The negotiations will be held in the Gomel region. The route is being determined at the moment. A logical place will be chosen in the Gomel region where the maximum security of the Ukrainian side will be ensured.”
Emphasizing that the Russian side gave a 100% guarantee for the security of passage of the Ukrainian delegation on the route in question, Medinskiy stated that Moscow was ready to meet with Kyiv at any time of the day to ensure peace.
