In a statement made by the Ukraine Emergency Service, the mortar shell fired by the Russian troops at around 05:10 local time hit a 9-storey apartment building in the Obolosnkyi district, north of the capital, Kiev.
In the fire that broke out in the apartment, 3 people lost their lives and 12 people were injured. Emergency services announced that the fire was under control after 2 hours.
In the footage, there were moments when Ukrainian citizens were rescued by fire escapes.
