According to the Mizan News Agency, affiliated with the Iranian Judiciary, Sharmahd, who is alleged to be the leader of the US-based anti-regime group known as “Tonder” and “The Assembly of the Kingdom of Iran”, was sentenced to death by the Tehran Revolutionary Court on charges of “making mischief on earth by planning and directing terrorist acts”. had been sentenced.
The organization in question was accused of organizing some armed actions and sabotage across the country with the terrorist attack that killed 14 people and injured 215 people in the city of Shiraz on April 12, 2008.
The Iranian Intelligence Ministry announced that it had captured Sharmahd, who is a dual Iranian-German citizen and known to have resided in the USA since 2003, abroad and brought him to the country in July 2020.
His family said that Sharmahd was “abducted” in the United Arab Emirates.
