Last minute: Sweden sent a letter to Turkey stating that it has mobilized the police against terrorist elements in the country.
EMPOWERMENT OF COMMITMENT TO THE TRIPLE AGREEMENT
The two-page letter includes 14 examples of steps Sweden has taken to show that it is “fully committed” to the implementation of a memorandum it signed with Turkey and Finland in June, which resulted in NATO member Turkey lifting its veto on its applications to the EU.
Sweden and Finland started their applications to join NATO in May in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. However, Turkey opposed because of the support given to terrorist organizations by the two countries, and then an agreement was signed between the three countries.
