Last minute statement from Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca about mushroom

Visiting a citizen who was hospitalized due to mushroom poisoning, Health Minister Fahrettin Koca made statements about mushroom poisoning. Koca stated that a young woman living in Karaman was revived after a liver transplant at Ankara Bilkent City Hospital.

Koca made a statement on his official Twitter account;

A YOUNG LADY, POISONED FROM MUSHROOM IN Karaman, BACK TO LIFE WITH LIVER TRANSPLANTATION. The transplant was done in our Ankara Bilkent City Hospital. The mother and father were hospitalized and treated.

In mushroom poisoning, 3 out of every 100 patients die. In some poisonings, serious conditions occur that can lead to kidney and liver failure.

There are more than 6,000 mushroom species worldwide, and at least 100 of them are known to be life-threatening poisonous varieties.

In order to avoid the risk of poisoning, the consumption of mushrooms found in nature should be avoided and cultivated mushrooms should be preferred.

I wish our patients well and congratulate our teams who successfully performed the liver transplantation and treatments.’ made statements.
