While the attacks continued after Russia’s military operation against Ukraine, the Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko made a statement that disturbed the public. Klitschko said that the capital was besieged and evacuation from the city became impossible.
“DO NOT GO OUT”
President Klitschko said that there are no Russian soldiers in the city at the moment, but the city is surrounded. “For the safety of our residents, we have imposed a curfew until tomorrow morning. Do not go out.”
EVACUATION HAS BEEN IMPOSSIBLE
“In general, the situation in the city is now under control. All critical infrastructure facilities are operational. Public transport systems are not working. Metro stations serve as shelters for people. It has now become impossible for civilians to evacuate from the city,” Klitschko said.
