Last minute: Speaking at a press conference broadcast on Ukrainian television, five baby-faced Russian soldiers made statements that would anger Putin. Captured Russian soldiers said they were tricked by Putin and sent to die as a ‘piece of meat’ in the impossible to win Ukraine war. While the soldiers reacted harshly to Putin, whom they called “criminal”, because of the Ukraine invasion, he said “We want to tell the truth to the whole world” and made striking statements.

“CHILDREN DIE IN VOICE”
The expressions of one of the soldiers who spoke at the press conference were extremely striking:
“We want to stop, we want to tell the whole world the truth. Children die in vain. Putin is a liar. I want to go home, I don’t want to be here, I’m embarrassed, forgive me.”
Some of the soldiers’ other statements were as follows:
“We are pieces of meat, killed by planes and artillery bombing peaceful cities.”
“Comrade president of Russia, you are lying – here you commit such crimes against your will.
“You’re wrong, Putin, you’re guilty. I want you to put an end to all this. Please order all soldiers to return home. I thought the government was wise, but they threw us in like a piece of meat.”
