Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus emphasized that monkeypox is more deadly in countries where it is endemic and said:
“We should not forget that there were more than 1400 cases in Africa this year and 66 people died due to the virus. The virus has been spreading and taking lives in Africa for decades. Unfortunately, the international community has only recently started to respond to this virus after it started to appear in high-income countries. All societies facing the threat of the virus deserve the same attention and equal access to medical tools for protection.”
THE NUMBER OF CASE IS OVER 1000
