Breaking news: While wondering whether there will be a meeting between Turkey and Syria, a remarkable claim came from Russia. It was stated that Russia was warmly welcomed to President Erdogan’s proposal for a three-way meeting for Syria.
“WE ARE EXTREMELY POSITIVE”
According to İHA, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov stated that the Moscow administration views President Tayyip Erdogan’s idea of a trilateral meeting between the leaders of Turkey, Syria and Russia “extremely positive”.
ERDOĞAN: WE WANT TO TAKE TRIPLE STEPS, PUTIN ATTRACTED THIS POSITIVELY
While answering the questions of journalists upon their return from Turkmenistan, Erdogan expressed his proposal for a three-way meeting for Syria with the following words:
“As of now, we want to take a step as a Syria-Turkey-Russia trio. For this, first our intelligence organizations come together, then our defense ministers come together, then our foreign ministers come together. After their meetings, we as leaders Let’s come together. I offered this to Mr. Putin. He also looked at it positively. Thus, we will start a series of talks.”
“OUR NATIONAL INTERESTS ARE DECISIVE IN OUR STEPS TO TAKE ON SYRIA”
Regarding the allegations that the United States did not view the meeting with Assad positively, Erdogan said the following:
“So you still haven’t recognized your President. I don’t know who, when and how to meet with someone’s permission. I had a meeting with the President of Egypt in Qatar. I didn’t get permission from anyone. The decisive factor in the steps we will take regarding Syria will be our national interests. Safe in Syria.” This is one of the steps we will take within the measures we will take against the terrorist organization from the region.”
