According to the news of Greek State Television ERT, there were 4 officers in the helicopter working to extinguish the forest fire in the Palaiohori Region of the island. The “Mi 8” type helicopter, rented by Greece to combat the increasing forest fires in the summer months, crashed into the sea off the coast of Agiou Mina.

There were 4 people, one Romanian, two Moldavian, and one Greek, in the helicopter rented from Ukraine.
Coast Guard units rescued 2 people who fell into the sea with a helicopter. Search and rescue efforts are continuing for the other 2 people.
