ALIYEV: WE HAD TO
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev spoke on the phone with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken after the operation. The Presidency of Azerbaijan made a statement regarding the telephone conversation between Aliyev and US Secretary of State Blinken.
According to the statement, Aliyev explained the reasons for the anti-terrorism measures initiated by the Azerbaijani army in Karabakh during his meeting with Blinken.
Talking about the Armenian armed forces in Karabakh and their increasing provocations in recent months, and the so-called regime’s “presidential election”, Aliyev noted that they had to start local anti-terrorist measures in the region to prevent provocative actions.
Aliyev emphasized that the Azerbaijani army does not target civilians and infrastructure facilities, but only destroys legitimate military targets.
“WE INVITED ME MANY TIMES, AND IT WAS REJECTED”
Reminding that representatives of Armenians living in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan were repeatedly invited to dialogue by the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration to discuss reintegration issues, but these invitations were rejected, Aliyev stated that they reiterated the invitation to dialogue while anti-terrorism measures continued.
Aliyev stated that anti-terrorism measures will be stopped if the Armenian armed forces in Karabakh lay down their weapons and disarm.
REMARKABLE CLAIM ABOUT ARMENIA
Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense Spokesperson Anar Eyvazov held a press conference. Eyvazov made the following statements in his speech:
“The Armenian Armed Forces are trying to draw civilians into conflicts by retreating to civilian settlements. We observed that they are trying to involve civilians in conflicts by arming them.
“6 ‘Ural’ branded trucks and 4 mortars filled with bullets belonging to illegal Armenian armed groups were seized by our Armed Forces.”
“OUR PUBLIC BUILDINGS WERE DAMAGED IN SUSHA”
In the statement made by the Azerbaijani Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, “Illegal Armenian armed groups put the city of Shusha under fire throughout the night. “As a result of the attacks, our public buildings in Shusha were damaged.”

We always defend each other’s justified positions in international organizations. With the Shusha Declaration, our relations rose to the level of strategic alliance. “You and I always remember the words of Azerbaijan’s National Leader Heydar Aliyev, ‘one nation, two states’, which are the symbol of our brotherhood, and we carry the unshakable unity between Azerbaijan and Turkey to new heights,” he said.
ARMENIA’S PROVOCATIONS INCREASED IN THE REGION
After the 44-day 2nd Karabakh War, the steps taken by the so-called regime in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan caused tension to rise.
The so-called regime has recently carried out a series of provocations in the lands under its control, such as getting closer to the positions of the Azerbaijani army, digging trenches to reinforce its own positions, various fortification activities and sabotage attempts.
Armenian armed groups have continued to systematically open fire on Azerbaijani army positions and lay mines in the past few months.
Despite the demands from Azerbaijan for the dissolution of the so-called regime, the so-called “presidential election” held on September 9 in the lands controlled by Armenian forces further increased the tension.
