Last minute Adopted at the UN Russia to pay war

Breaking news… At the United Nations (UN) General Assembly, the resolution demanding Russia to pay war reparations to Ukraine was accepted.

The 193-member UN General Assembly voted on the resolution demanding that Russia be held responsible for any violation of international law within or against Ukraine.

RUSSIA, CHINA, IRAN AND SYRIA VOTE AGAINST THE DECISION

While 94 countries voted in favor and 14 countries voted against, 74 member countries abstained. Russia, China, Iran and Syria were among the member states that voted against the resolution.

The resolution calls for the establishment of an international mechanism for compensation for damage, death or injury resulting from Russia’s illegal actions against Ukraine.

Although the resolutions of the UN General Assembly are not legally binding, they have political weight. (AA)
